The Xero and Figured stand at Fieldays 2015

During June, Matt Kerr and I spent time at Mystery Creek firstly taking in many of the 900 odd displays and stands and then worked with our friends from Xero and Figured on the Xero stand in the main pavilion.

For me… an absolute eye opener, the best part of 29,000 people attended on each of the two days we were there. For a bloke from Blenheim that is more than our population.  I guess a stroll down Queen Street in Auckland could give you a similar experience, although it would be fair to say you would probably see fewer Swani’s and the boots would be leather rather than rubber.

To say that technology is being widely used in farming is an understatement, there are so many innovative people in our agricultural industries, coming up with so many amazing new things it proves the number eight wire approach is really stepping it up.

Working with Xero and Figured and talking to farmers and rural servicing people showed us that doing the same old same old no longer cuts the mustard. A survey run from the Xero live app on their stand indicated that farmers want more from their accountants than just getting their tax returns filed.

At WK we are responding to that, we know we have to keep pace with our clients and help them with timely reporting, good budgeting and forecasting and be able to work with their bankers and other advisers.  The tools we have now are taking us into that arena and it is our goal to be just as innovative as our clients.

Figured team and Greg going through Figured's V2.0

We are now moving to the 2nd generation of Figured, having cut our teeth on V1 we are now looking to the enhancement’s V2.0 is bringing.  More features, greater speed, a fresh look and just as important to us: a team at Figured that listen and respond.

We have just spent a day with Dave, Neil and James from Figured who have shown us around the new product, these guys represent Figured extremely well, they are accessible, friendly and receptive, better still they understand farming.  Back in Auckland they have a hard working team of likeminded people, so we know that we are in good hands and so can you.

To have a look at some of the features jump onto the Figured website  and click on the link Try Figured for Free which will allow you to trial a demo version for a month, well worth the look.  Then give us a call.
