A passion for vibrant businesses, communities and a good game of rugby underpins WK’s mission statement and the work culture we strive for.

As proud Legends sponsors of the Tasman Makos and the Rugby World Cup drawing closer, there’s plenty of excitement and banter between staff around the water cooler at the moment.

Our involvement with Marlborough rugby dates back longer than anyone can remember, but current directors Craig Forsyth, Matt Kerr and Vaughan Harris have had an almost life-long long association with the Harlequins Club as players, coaches and supporters, as has  associate Greg Newman who is currently president and treasurer of the club, while Hamish MacDonald has had a strong involvement with the Renwick Club in the past, and is currently active in refereeing and chairing the Marlborough Rugby sub-union.

WK supports many local sporting and cultural organisations, including rugby, because contributing to and being involved in our local community is hugely important, Vaughan says.

“We’re not just about supporting our local businesses - connecting with our community across a range of initiatives is really important to us,” he says.

“It’s actually captured in our mission statement which is about achieving success for our clients, staff and community.”

“It’s more than just being a good ‘corporate citizen’, it’s about making a real difference in areas and projects that as individuals, we have a real passion for.”

A mutual interest in sports and the community, helps staff gel, and creates fantastic team morale, he says.

Get down to Lansdowne Park in Blenheim and support the Tasman Makos in their bid for the ITMCup Premiership title this season!

“We’re heavily involved in many great local sporting and cultural organisations and we encourage our staff to contribute in these areas wherever they can.

Our corporate hospitality tent at the Tasman Makos’ Blenheim matches is a prime example of this.

“For some reason the Counties game last year was particularly popular with the female staff,” he jokes.

So keep an eye out for us at Lansdowne Park this season, we’ll be there for every Blenheim ITMCup game, and love catching up with clients, friends and family.
