wk1Team captain of Winstanley Kerridge’s Relay For Life team, David Bellinger, is looking forward to celebrating cancer survivors and carers as well as his birthday at this year’s Marlborough Cancer Society’s fundraising event.

The accounting software manager isn’t giving away how old he’ll be on March 1, but reckons age and fitness are no barrier to taking part.

Relay For Life is an inspiring community event that gives people a chance to celebrate cancer survivors and carers; remember loved ones lost to cancer; and fight back by raising awareness and funds to support the work of the Cancer Society.

The Marlborough event is taking place on Saturday February 28 at the Giesens Sports and Events Centre in Renwick, when team members will walk and jog through the night until dawn, symbolising the fact that cancer never sleeps.

David says team WK raised more than $1500 for the Cancer Society last time we entered Relay For Life four year’s ago, and he’s hoping to surpass that effort this year.

While the WK team has nine members, our entire office is supporting the cause and helping raise funds, including a staff morning tea, ‘dress in black’ day on Friday 13th, raffle, silent auction and car boot sale.

Individuals can also donate by credit card online here. Thanks for your support!
