WK Gala Feast is back for another year with Starlight Sessions by Arbour, at Spy Valley Wines.
We’re thrilled to be the main sponsor of this event, which aims to showcase much of what Marlborough does best: amazing produce, wine, craft beer, and entertainment.
Many WK clients are involved with the event including organisers Liz Buttimore and Bradley Hornby, owner operators of Arbour.
The pair wanted to create a night of magic for grown ups, Liz says.
“It’s going to be like a wedding without the wedding, crossed with Disney after Dark, for adults,” she says.
“These two things are generally aimed at people getting married or kids, but this is just for us to have a party. Adults never go to the extreme just for themselves, so that’s what it’s all about.”
Guests will be treated to a ‘roving’ degustation dinner with elegant food served all night through a mixture of grazing tables and waiter service.
Arbour co-owner and chef Bradley will be creating dishes using some of the best seasonal Marlborough produce available, something he does on a day to day business at work.
With help from a range of local vendors, the couple will create a magical setting filled with a mix of both bar and lounge seating, and a fairy light-adorned ‘naked tipi’ will set the stage for New Zealand artists Anna Coddington and Paul Saker-Norrish.
A number of WK clients will be providing quality products for the evening, including Arbour, Cranky Goat Cheese, Riverby Estate, Framingham Wines and Dog Point Vineyard.
It’s through sponsorships like these, as well as the funding provided by WK which have allowed the event to come to life, Liz says.
“WK are always keen to support charity events and get behind the community; we are the talent and they are the money, and we work really well together,” Liz says.
“They’re really forward thinking for Marlborough and they love food and wine; they love getting behind Marlborough.”
